Sean Hill from Woonona, New South Wales Australia takes the win at Round 2 of the Daiwa Hobie Fishing Kayak Series 13 held March 20 – 21, 2021 at St Georges Basin, New South Wales.
Hill’s summary of the event: “I arrived at the basin on Friday for prefish and only spent a couple of hours on the water and found a few fish.
Day 1 headed off to my spot with a couple of detours on the way just to see if I could pick a couple up a bit closer to the starting line but no good so arrived a bit later than I should have. I picked up my bag fairly quickly with only one upgrade and by this time the wind was ripping so decided to leave them alone for day 2 and head back weighing in 2.11kg for my 3 fish and sitting in 3rd place.
Day 2 was shortened from 2pm weigh in to 1pm due to the weather forecast I knew I didn’t have as much time as my spot was so far away and it took over two and a half hours to get back the previous day. Second cast bang a 940g fish a few casts later another 600g then soon after another 550g I was cheering upgraded a couple of times and decided to get out of there while the wind wasn’t out of control and weighed in 2.07kg putting me in first place. All my fish came on the @prolureaustralia s36 in combat color”.
The next round of the Daiwa Hobie Fishing Kayak Series 13 will be held on April 10th – 11th at Nambucca Heads NSW.
