HOBIE FISHING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 9 Åmål, Sweden 23 August – 28 August 2020
As Covid-19 conditions evolve, we are monitoring the situation every day and watching closely the various world health organizations, national and regional guidelines. We want to be clear – your health and safety and everyone in our recreational fishing family are first and foremost in our decision-making process.
Other important considerations that can still affect the running of the event are shipping & transport, international travel and the economy. While most shipping ports are open, some regions within Europe have or could have border restrictions for road transport. International flights are unknown at this stage and with the economy being affected this may have an impact on angler’s ability to attend the event. The final hurdle is that Hobie USA is under a government mandated shutdown so production is halted.
HFW9 Additional Review Date
We are going to extend the review date for the August event to May 20 and at that time provide competitors with the final status of the event for 2020. If the situation changes, before May 20th, we will let everyone know immediately.
Travel Plans
We strongly suggest that you wait until the final confirmation of the event dates before making travel arrangements. The Hobie Company USA, Hobie Kayak Europe and the IHFWA will not accept any liability for financial loss due to changes to the location, venue, dates and or times.
